Last Weeks Challenge for Unplug Your Kids was HARD
I heard someone mention toffee somewhere.. then I remembered my childhood of making our own toffees, and buying them from school fete's for 20 cents - so Toffee it was!!
Take ingredients - Sugar, water, vinegar, patty papers, sprinkles
Recipe
2 cups of sugar
3/4 cup of cold water
1 tablespoon of white vinegar
Place all ingredients in a saucepan, stir over heat until sugar dissolves bring to the boil. Cook until golden brown (do not stir), remove from heat and allow bubbles to settle. pour into small patty cake papers
The only thing I allowed Miss 2 to do:
Miss 7 and Miss 5 were allowed to pour ingredients and stir to dissolve (hearts and red clothes were for Jump Rope for Heart day at school)
Then I did the rest as the toffee is VERY HOT and can burn - Here it is turning golden
Pour into papers
EAT!!
This Weeks Challenge: Fruit!

Oh. My. Lord. This project is for me. I can't wait! I wonder if you can dip them in melted chocolate after they're cooled...
Yummy. I think that I am going to have to make this with the boys. Thanks for sharing.
I dont usually comment much on your blog, but I love reading all the fun wonderful things you are doing with the kids!
Now your kids will remember making toffees when they were kids as well. What a great memory. M
Very cute idea!
I am sure your girls loved it. I know my son would love to make something with sugar he absolutly LOVES the stuff! To bad mom won't indulge him as much as he would like.

Yum!
This is definitely something we should try. Although I foresee burning myself pouring it.
I was wondering about the red and the hearts (very cute), so I am glad you explained! The toffee looks yummy and it looks as though they enjoyed the results. I love your new blog-look BTW!
