Am I an Uncool Parent?

So here is my guilt for this week.

Kalani goes to a friends house to play after school once a week. This week another little girl went along. They go to said friends room, and discover a mini disco ball - a gift from friends Grandmother. The girls ask to use it. The three girls lock the mother out of the room! They put on the radio and disco ball and dance their little hearts out all afternoon.

On the way home Kalani says to her friends mother (also a friend of mine) "That was soooooo much fun!" "We never listen to music at our house" "and if we do it is ALWAYSSSSSSSS church music" blah blah blah etc etc....

The mother comes laughing to my house and is busting to tell me what my lovely daughter said about our family, making us look like ultra strict christians or something :( Then I thought about it... whoops maybe we are... Ken and I own like 6 CD's between us, He won't allow illegal downloads and we dont have money to pay to download, so we don't... and we do sing alot of church songs... and in the car we can't stand all the noise so Ken either doesn't have the radio on, or he listens to the classical station... and since we walk everywhere the kids and I are hardly in the car to listen to the radio, our radio/cd player broke about 4 years ago and we never fixed it.......

Oh the reality hit... I am a boring, christian song listening mother, who never allows my kids to listen to pop music..... OH THE SHAME OF IT!!! I always thought I was fun and upbeat and dance around the house... oh ... maybe that is to the music in my head....

So my sister is currently making a tweeny bopper music complilation for me... and we have been doing ALOT more dancing this week to the 3 CD's I own!!!

PLEASE forgive me children.... :)

That is so funny really. I think your the cool parent for sure. They will remember your love of good music.

I listen to christian music all the time. I love the uplifting feeling I get.

Glad that they will get a fun CD to dance around with you. Oh the growing up times... Why does it have to change when they think we are uncool......

MUSIC SOOTHES THE SOUL!!!!!!

Should I mention the benefits of discovering all types of music? Let me know if you need more cds, I buy kid appropriate music and load them onto my computer so you can just have the originals.
