Double Digits
Happy 10th Birthday to my first born child. Double digits make me feel old. My baby can’t be 10 yet!
I am so glad to have you as mine. So delighted to have you as part of our family. You are a wise soul who is so smart and knowledgeable. You live in a little bubble. A bubble I love to join sometimes. I hope you stay so pure and innocent as I see you. You teach me.
This year I can see so much ahead for you. You are involved in many things and growing and maturing and finding out what works for you and what doesn’t. It makes me so happy to see you try new things. Develop new talents. Search and stretch your artistic muscles. I love to see you delighted and giggly and with a little excited nervousness. That would be my favourite part of you. You have these twinkling eyes that just look so devine when mixed with a little excitement.
You love to read and stay up half the night snuggled into a spot with a book under your nose. I don’t know how you don’t fall asleep. Its amazing really and I am so impressed by it (even though I wish you would go to sleep earlier : ) As a parent going to bed before your child seems ridiculous!
Sometimes being the eldest child can be hard. Us parents are always experimenting on the first child. I am so glad that you forgive so easily. I make so many mistakes. I’ve made a pledge to myself to get to know you better. To understand your innermost workings more closely. I pray that you notice the difference. That you can see that I am trying.
Trying to love you. All of you. The hard parts and the soft parts. The unique you.
I can’t imagine a child more perfect than you for me.
Thanks for letting me be your mum.
I love you forever xx
