I Love Rainy Days...

except when I have to walk in it!! and apparently there might be flash flooding in low lying areas tomorrow - well atleast it is the rain we have been praying for - It hasn't rained not even once since summer.

So while Gabrielle napped a long time due to the darkness outside and warmth of her bed....

I made ~

Pumpkin and Ricotta Canelloni for dinner...

Finger Paint~ See Creative Kids for recipes

1/2 cup cornstarch
3 Tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
2 cups cold water
food coloring

In a medium pan, mix all the ingredients together to make the finger paint. Cook over low heat 10 to 15 minutes. Keep stirring the finger paint mixture until it is smooth and thick. After the finger paint has thickened take the pan off the stove and let the mixture cool.

After cooling, divide the finger paint into storage containers depending on how many colors you would like. Add a few drops of food coloring to each container. Stir the coloring in to the paint to determine the shade of color. You're ready to finger paint! Cover tightly when storing.

A loaf of Bread
(warm bread after walking in the rain home from school is so nice)

and I have book club tonight... ohhh yeah... hot chocolate... books... chatting.... on a rainy day... it just doesn't get better than this does it?

So this post is the real 150th!!!!!! YAY ME!!

Happy 150. Yeah for you..

I think that is so true about the money and the food storage. It is being felt around these parts. We had some relief yesterday as the price of wheat went down. And also gas went down some.

Sorry about you not getting paid. That is a little frustrating for sure. The bread looks delicious and the painting looks fun.

You are such a go getter girl. I can't keep up. Have fun tonight at the book club. And drink a hot chocolate for me. Yumm.

I am so glad for the rain. I love to be in it ~ running in rain and snow is my 2nd favorite thing to do. Pumpkin and Ricotta Canelloni for dinner! YUM. I love the finger paint idea. Will have to try it as well. Thanks for all the comments on my blog. Especially about Kallie and High School.

Enjoy book club. What book are you reading? Mine is next week and I have not started the book. Must get reading ~ my 3rd favorite thing to do. M

Bobbie, does the food colouring in the finger paint stain little fingers? I'd love to try this. Let me know. Sarah

Not sure which sarah this is, so I will have to tell you here, as I am not sure which person to email..

I let the girls put in the colour.. of course they put in too much!! so if you put in less you should be fine... our fingers were stained at the time.. but it was afternoon so they had a bath straight after this and their hands werent stained.
